See your club handicapper to get a PHRF rating.

New rating certificate - $35.  Annual renewals are $30 due by March 01 ($35 thereafter).

Club handicappers will help a skipper complete the rating questionnaire for sending it to the Chief Handicapper for review.  Once approved by the Handicapping Committee, a rating certificate will be published online.  Skippers should confirm that their rating certificate is available for review by each Race Committee.  Keep a copy on board or at least have access to the internet for proof using the online  current list of rated boats.

Rating Appeals:  Skipper must write a letter to the Chief Rater explaining the reason for a rating appeal (mail letter to the address above).  Chief Rater will meet with club handicappers to discuss and vote on the appeal.  This is covered in the FCSA  PHRF Rules.

Series Trophies:

FCSA offers the overall Circuit Trophy, as well as a Spring and Fall St. Johns River trophies.  When a rated boat is entered in a club race, noted as a FCSA series race on the schedule, the boat is competing for a club trophy for that race and points toward the yearly trophy for the series.  Trophies are awarded in Performance and Cruising classes (and Sport and Multihull classes if and when sufficiently populated).

All competing boats must have a current PHRF rating from FCSA.

Details are TBD for 2021, but here is what they have been in the past.

Circuit Trophy:  8 best scores – one must be out of Region, refer to Scoring Grid.

St. Johns River Spring Series Trophy:  6 races; 1 throw out.

St. Johns River Fall Series Trophy:  6 races; 1 throw out.

WSN - Women’s Series, SJR:  4 races; 0 throw outs.

SASS - Women’s Series, St. Augustine:  3 races; 0 throw outs.

Scoring:

Individual Race Scoring will be the low point system, 2021-2024 RRS, Appendix A4.

FCSA Series scoring will be in accordance with the following – “Different than Appendix A4”.

DNF, RAF = number that started the race.

DNS, OCS, DSQ = number that came to the starting area.

DNC = number that registered and attempted to race.

DNE = number entered in the series + 1 (applies to SJR Series only).

SJR races abandoned will be scored DNF, DNS, DNC, etc. as appropriate.

Ties will be decided using the current Racing Rules of Sailing, Appendix A8.
