See your club handicapper to get a PHRF rating.

New rating certificate - $35.  Annual renewals are $30 due by February 01 ($35 thereafter).

Club handicappers will help a skipper complete the rating questionnaire for sending it to the Chief Handicapper for review.  Once approved by the Handicapping Committee, a rating certificate will be mailed to the skipper.  Skippers should have their rating certificate available at every race – keep a copy on board.

Rating Appeals:  Skipper must write a letter to the Chief Rater explaining the reason for a rating appeal (mail letter to the address above).  Chief Rater will meet with club handicappers to discuss and vote on the appeal.

Series Trophies:

FCSA offers three series of PHRF races this year:  Spring Series Trophy, Fall Series Trophy, and Offshore Trophy.  When a rated boat is entered in a club race, noted as a FCSA points race on the schedule, the boat is competing for a club trophy for that race and points toward the yearly trophy for the series.  Trophies are awarded in three classes:  Spinnaker, Non-Spinnaker, Cruising.

All competitors must have a current PHRF rating from FCSA and be a member of a partner yacht club.

St. Johns River Spring Series Trophy:  6 races; 1 throw out.

St. Johns River Fall Series Trophy:  6 races; 1 throw out.

Offshore Trophy:  13 races; 5 throw outs.

     WSN - Women’s Series:  4 races; 0 throw outs.

Scoring:

Individual Race Scoring will be the low point system, 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing, Appendix A4.

FCSA Series scoring will be in accordance with the following.

DNF, RAF = number that started the race.

DNS, OCS, DSQ = number that came to the starting area.

DNC = number that registered and attempted to race.

DNE = number entered in the series + 1.

Abandoned races will be scored DNF, DNS, DNC, etc. as appropriate.

Ties will be decided using the 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing, Appendix A8.
