SERIES SCORING
11.1 Eligibility to be scored in the Women’s Sailing Series requires membership in the Northeast Florida Women’s Sailing Network for the year 2004.
11.2 For series scoring, four regattas are scheduled. Three regattas must be held and scored to constitute a series.
11.3 For series scoring, boats will be divided into four classes, PHRF Spinnaker (all female), PHRF Non-Spinnaker (all female), CRUISER-All Female and CRUISER-Mixed Crew. Cruiser classes will sail without spinnakers.
11.4(a) In each of the four classes, each boat’s series score will be the total of her regatta scores, with her worst score discarded if four regattas have been held and scored. If less than four regattas are held and scored, all races will be counted. The boat with the lowest total score wins.
11.4(b) If boats in a regatta are divided into classes different from those NFWSN has prescribed for Series Scoring, the boats will be reclassified and their corrected times will be used to place them in order. Each qualified boat will be scored points equal to her place in the new class.
11.4(c) Boats that did not come to the starting area in a regatta will be scored points one more than the number of boats in her class that entered the series. This may alter the points awarded for a DNC in a single regatta.
11.5 Ties in the series will be broken in favor of the boat with the most first places, and when the tie remains, the most second places, and so on, if necessary. When the tie remains, it shall stand as the final result and the boats shall receive equal prizes.
SERIES PRIZES
12.1 In each of four classes, a Series Winner prize will be awarded by the Women’s Sailing Network to the boat with the lowest total score.
12.2 Participation plaques will be awarded by the Women’s Sailing Network to boats having sailed in at least three of the four regattas.
